The weather forecast called for lots of clouds and spells of rain - still, we decided to go flying. Look just how much this decision paid off! I can easily say that this was probably the most beautiful VFR flight in my life!

Welcome to Hausen am Albis aerodrome (LSZN)!

Good old almost new Skyhawk is ready to go, and so are we! By the way, click on any photos to enlarge them.

After Takeoff...

...we are treated to some beautiful landscapes of the region, including Lake Zug.

Say hello to wintery Mount Rigi (1'798m)

And here's the city of Lucerne!

Continuing southwest...

...the next sight we bump into is Mount Pilatus (2'128m), home of the world's steepest cog railway.

In case you fancy walking up, prepare yourself for some trembling knees!

Very beautiful indeed!

Let's continue to the central Alps

Quite a bit of snow here already, eh?

Crossing the Brüning Pass to the Bernese Oberland

The Grindelwald region

Looking along the ridge towards the Schwarzhorn (2'928 m)

Wellhorn (3'191 m) and Mittelhorn (3'704 m) rising steeply from the pastures below

Welcome to downtown Grindelwald, set among the feet of these impressive mountains

Closely hugging the Eiger north face. Cruising at 2'940m (9'650ft), and still nowhere near the top!

The village of Wengen and the Lobhorn mountain range, both enjoying the sunshine

Meet Schilthorn (2'970m)!

Can you spot the cardboard characters, eternally playing On Her Majesty's Secret Service out in the freezing cold?

The stars of the show: Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (4'158m)

The beautiful city of Thun

Enjoying the perks of autumn flying!

Complete freedom up here, no one else in the air!

Admire the Swiss Indian Summer!

Civilisation is coming closer...

...but Mother Nature still knows how to please!

Lookin' down on the city of Zug

Enjoying the magical autumn colors one last time

Returning to base...

...shooting for Runway 27 with an interesting approach!

What a fantastic and unforgettable experience this was! The combination of unexpected sunshine, lovely fall colours in the plains and some first snow in the mountains really made for some lasting memories! Thanks Mirko for the good piloting, too! :-)
